Term: Contract position, subject to available funding
Hours: Flexible; estimated 5-7 hours per month depending on need. September start date.
Compensation: Honorarium, funded through the Connecting People and Communities for Living Well (CPCLW) Grant
About KDFC
The Kneehill Dementia Friendly Communities Group (KDFC) is a collaborative network dedicated to increasing dementia awareness, supporting caregivers, and creating inclusive communities where people living with dementia can thrive. Through education, community partnerships, volunteer engagement, and programs such as Minds in Motion and the Dementia Experience, KDFC works to build understanding and support.
Position Summary
KDFC is seeking a motivated and community-minded individual to support communications, relationship building, and administrative activities. This role will help strengthen community awareness and maintain connections with local partners.
The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable using technology and social media, and passionate about supporting older adults, caregivers, and dementia-friendly communities.
Key Responsibilities
Communications
Maintain and update KDFC website and social media platforms.
Promote events, workshops, and community initiatives.
Create posters and community announcements.
Share information about dementia resources and supports available in the region.
Community Engagement
Attend community events and meetings as requested.
Help identify opportunities to increase awareness and participation in KDFC initiatives.
Qualifications
Required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
Comfortable using computers, email, social media, and common office software.
Ability to work independently and manage flexible priorities.
Commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
Preferred
Experience in communications and administration.
Knowledge of dementia, caregiving, seniors' services, or community support programs.
Experience working with non-profit organizations or community groups.
